About me

Hi, I’m Lindsey Nickoles, the Founder of The Brain That Plays. I’m excited to share my nearly decade of experience supporting families as a certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Play Advocate, Parent Educator, and Sleep Consultant. While all of these roles are deeply meaningful to me, nothing has shaped my work more than my own experience as a new mom. Becoming a mother has given me an even deeper understanding of what it truly takes to support families in a way that is compassionate, holistic, and grounded in real-life experience.

My passion lies in sensory play—activities that spark creativity, foster emotional connections, and nurture cognitive growth. Whether it’s introducing simple, engaging activities to help babies explore their world, or creating calming sleep environments, my goal is to support families in a way that honors the unique rhythm of their lives.

I believe in the power of quality rest to support not only development but also the energy and joy that make parenthood fulfilling.

Ultimately, my mission is to help families slow down, breathe, and savor the small moments. Parenthood is a beautiful and transformative experience, and I am here to walk beside you, sharing the knowledge I’ve gained both as a professional and a mother, to help your family thrive.
