About me

Hi, I’m Lindsey Nickoles, the Founder of The Brain That Plays. I’m honored to share over a decade of experience supporting families as a Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Play Advocate, and Parent Educator. While my work with children and families has been the foundation of my career, I am excited to now expand my services to include Pregnancy, Postpartum, Newborn Guidance and Sleep Consulting.

Sleep has always been a natural extension of my work supporting families in those early months and years. Through my continued education and training, I now offer sleep consulting as part of a holistic approach that considers the whole child and the whole family.

While my professional experience spans many roles, nothing has shaped my work more deeply than becoming a mother myself. That experience has given me an even greater understanding of what it truly takes to support families in a way that is compassionate, practical, and rooted in real life. I believe in the power of quality rest- not only for development but for the energy, patience, and joy that help families thrive.

My passion lies in sensory play- activities that spark creativity, foster emotional connection, and nurture cognitive development. Whether it's introducing simple ways for babies to explore their world or helping families create calming sleep environments, my goal is to support families in a way that honors the unique rhythm of their lives. While parenthood is deeply beautiful, it can also be overwhelming, exhausting, and full of uncertainty. You don't have to navigate those moments alone. I am here to listen, support, and walk alongside you through both the challenges and the joys of raising a child.

Ultimately, my mission is to help families slow down, breathe, and savor the small moments. Parenthood is a transformative journey, and I'm honored to share my knowledge I've gained- both as a professional and a mother- to help your family find balance and thrive.
